Gmail campaigns
without the busywork

MailSharks sends messages from your own Gmail to the list in your own Google Sheet — paced, capped per day, with unsubscribes and open statistics.
Your mailbox, your listsMessages go out through your own Gmail account, addresses come from your own Google Sheet. The service has no mail infrastructure of its own and never sends on its own behalf.
A careful paceA randomised delay between messages and a daily cap. A campaign can be paused and continued tomorrow.
Unsubscribes done rightA List-Unsubscribe header, a link in the message and a per-sheet suppression list. Nobody who opted out is mailed again.

How it works

  1. Connect your Google account. You grant access to Gmail and Google Sheets on Google's own page — the service never sees your password.
  2. Add a spreadsheet. Paste a Google Sheets link and pick the columns holding the email addresses and the names.
  3. Write the message. In the built-in composer or as a Gmail draft. {{name}} in the text is replaced with the recipient's name.
  4. Start the campaign. Check the subject, the recipient count and the daily cap — sending then runs on its own while you watch live statistics.

What the service processes, and why

MailSharks is a Telegram application that sends messages from your own Gmail account to the recipients listed in your own Google Sheet, and reports delivery and open statistics. Access to Google user data is required for exactly that:

ScopeWhy it is required
gmail.sendTo send the campaign messages on your behalf
gmail.readonlyTo list your drafts and read the content of the one you select, and to read delivery failure notices. No other messages are read or stored
spreadsheets.readonlyTo read the sheet list, headers and rows of the spreadsheet you specify. The application never writes to your spreadsheets
userinfo.emailTo show which account is connected

MailSharks' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is never sold, transferred to third parties, used for advertising, or used to train machine learning models. No other messages or spreadsheets are read.

Who is responsible for what

You supply the recipient lists, and you are responsible for the legality of the mailing: for having a lawful basis to contact these people, for the content of the messages and for honouring unsubscribes. With respect to recipients' personal data you act as the controller and MailSharks acts as a processor on your instructions. See the terms of service and the privacy policy for details.
